Elvis was a stylish guy back in the day. But he was also a fortune teller for this years new fashion statement, Blue Suede Shoes. Check out these and see if if some are calling your name.
Well, it's one for the money
Two for the show
Three to get ready
Now go, cat, go
But don't you
Step on my blue suede shoes
You can do anything
But stay off of my blue suede shoes
The Bangle Sisters
I adore Bracelets. I like the way they dress up or dress down an outfit. Bangle bracelets are great and because they are a grab and go accessory. But the key to changing the look is by the number you put on. I love to mix and match mine. Just keep piling them on and have fun. I have found some that won't break the bank, incase you missed the perfect one on MBT. Happy Trading! Laura
This season I have noticed more and more Fringe skirts frolicking around the town. They are super cute with some strappy sandals and a fitted top. If you missed some being sold by others on MBT, then here are some that wont break the bank. Happy Trading! Laura
Winter At The Beach
Every January we pack up the kids and dog and head to the beach, 30A to be exact, in January. Why? Well because it is my birthday month, and I crave some warmth! It always seems to coincide with the Songwriters festival as well. The entire town turns into one big venue. There are venues in restaurants, bars, book stores and outside. Plus there are so many pretty people here, if you like to people watch, then this is the place. Plus, you get to here some awesome music.
The 7th annual 30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL- set for January 15, 16 and 17, 2016 - has announced the initial line-up for the 2016 celebration of singers and songs. The festival, held in venues along scenic Highway 30A in Florida's South Walton County, will feature headline performances from esteemed artists Jackson Browne, Grace Potter, Shovels & Rope and Wine, Women & Song featuring Matraca Berg, Suzy Bogguss & Gretchen Peters.
I picked up a copy of The Southerner's Handbook a few months back as a a present for my husband, This is the essential guide for all things southern. It is arranged by 6 parts: Food, Style, Drink, Sporting and Adventure, Home and Garden and lastly Art and Culture. Every time I read this book, it reminds me of a simpler time from when I was a child and my grandmother.
So in one sitting I can read about the ultimate appetizer to make for guests, learn about seersucker and the secrets of a southern hostess, how to have the perfect southerner's bar, study up on the three essential flies to catch the trout of the south, growing the perfect heirloom tomato (and later slather some Duke's Mayo and spinkle some salt and pepper on it) and lastly go to the church of southern football (that would be University of Alabama versus Auburn).
Who knew I could do this in one day! Click on the photo above if you want to learn more or to purchase a copy.
I made this recipe after searching long and hard for a good gluten Free dip that I could eat. Well this turned out great! It had all the flavor and a little spice with a lot of cheese.
It is that time of year! To try something new and hold ourselves accountable, while looking awesome. A New Year's resolution should be fun and attainable. Here are some fun things that will help you look awesome and be bold in your wardrobe without breaking the bank. xox, Laura
If you are like me your closet is filled with brown, black, white and gray. Finally a few years ago I made the color leap. Pink, Orange and Turquoise are my favorite pops to add.
Wear Your Heels More Often
After having a broken foot all summer I am beyond ready to get a few inch taller in my heels. I have so many fun pairs in my closet I am ready to start strutting around town in again. (Hint: I always have a pair of my Haviana Flip Flops stashes close by if I need some relief!)
