For the Ugg of it

2/20/2016

So the first time I saw an Ugg Boot I was living in Park City, UT. I honestly thought they were pretty bland and basic. But they were all over the town, especially Apres Ski. Well after years of seeing them there I thought I may have to try them. But, my sister is who convinced me to try them on. She owned many pairs. She used them as slippers, and swore they are like walking on clouds, and said her feet never got cold when she had them on.

OMG! They are the warmest and most comfortable boot I have ever found. Occasionally you will find a nice pair of EUC Ugg Boots on MBT, but if you missed them here are some pretty cool and unique styles you can try.
This is my pair, UGG Sumner. I love the chocolate color and the height of the boot. I PROMISE it will keep you warm. After all it is still winter down here in Bama!

Also, because we are at the end of winter and spring is upon us there are some stellar savings on the boots!

Fedora, Me Adora

Even though it is winter a fedora makes a really fun accessory to add to your wardrobe as we start gearing up for the spring. Here are a few that I have found that are really cute for you. Some work better for winter and others better for the warmer season.

I have an old Wide Brimmed Felt Fedora that I love to wear during the winter with a simple long sleeved shirt and jeans. So don't feel like you need to wait to pull out your fedora you adore.

I adore Bracelets. I like the way they dress up or dress down an outfit. Bangle bracelets are great and because they are a grab and go accessory. But the key to changing the look is by the number you put on. I love to mix and match mine. Just keep piling them on and have fun. I have found some that won't break the bank, incase you missed the perfect one on MBT. Happy Trading! Laura

Every January we pack up the kids and dog and head to the beach, 30A to be exact, in January. Why? Well because it is my birthday month, and I crave some warmth! It always seems to coincide with the Songwriters festival as well. The entire town turns into one big venue. There are venues in restaurants, bars, book stores and outside. Plus there are so many pretty people here, if you like to people watch, then this is the place. Plus, you get to here some awesome music.

The Southerner's Handbook by Garden and Gun

1/17/2016

I picked up a copy of The Southerner's Handbook a few months back as a a present for my husband, This is the essential guide for all things southern. It is arranged by 6 parts: Food, Style, Drink, Sporting and Adventure, Home and Garden and lastly Art and Culture. Every time I read this book, it reminds me of a simpler time from when I was a child and my grandmother.

So in one sitting I can read about the ultimate appetizer to make for guests, learn about seersucker and the secrets of a southern hostess, how to have the perfect southerner's bar, study up on the three essential flies to catch the trout of the south, growing the perfect heirloom tomato (and later slather some Duke's Mayo and spinkle some salt and pepper on it) and lastly go to the church of southern football (that would be University of Alabama versus Auburn).

Who knew I could do this in one day! Click on the photo above if you want to learn more or to purchase a copy.

Wear Your Heels More Often
After having a broken foot all summer I am beyond ready to get a few inch taller in my heels. I have so many fun pairs in my closet I am ready to start strutting around town in again. (Hint: I always have a pair of my Haviana Flip Flops stashes close by if I need some relief!)
